Queenie van de Zandt moves through the world entertaining, educating and serenading the people she meets. She has the unique ability in all her work to make people feel deeply, and to awaken laughter, empathy and awareness in equal measure.

Her ability to seamlessly transition between various genres of entertainment sets her apart as a truly versatile performer, with a career spanning musical theatre, plays, cabaret, recording, film, and television, as well as acclaimed work as a comedian, writer, and arts educator.

As the driving force behind her boutique production house Amazon Woman Enterprises, Queenie has released 4 albums (Amazon Woman, Other Stories..., Queenie van de Zandt – Live in Cabaret and Singing & Vocal Warm Up Exercises); created her award-winning show BLUE: The Songs of Joni Mitchell which continues to tour around Australia and internationally, and continues to develop projects involving her cult, comedy alter-ego Jan van de Stool. As Jan, Queenie has twice co-hosted The Helpmann Awards (Foxtel/ABC), performed in Jan’s multi-award-winning comedy show I GET THE MUSIC IN YOU, an evening with Jan van de Stool (MICF) and continues to tour her latest show, Jan van de Stool in PARTING THE RED CURTAINS (BCF & SCF).

Most recently Queenie co-wrote, co-produced and stared in the stage show Middle Raged, which toured Australia in 2026 and will return for new season in 2027.

Alongside her performance work, since 2000, Queenie has presented master classes, workshops and courses in cabaret, song performance and audition technique for musical theatre around the country. She is writing a book about audition technique and in 2020 released a CD, with fellow vocal educator Beth Daly, called Singing & Vocal Warm Up Exercises – From Beginner to Professional. She has held teaching positions in numerous performing arts schools, has been invited to conduct master classes and seminars throughout Australia and internationally and has written musical theatre courses for several leading institutions. She has taught in the music department at NIDA and has held teaching positions in the music theatre courses at VCA and Federation University in Ballarat (formerly BAAPA).

In 2015 Queenie co-founded The Australian Musical Theatre Academy (AMTA). AMTA offers workshops, masterclasses, and courses for students of all skill levels, bringing them together with top-tier industry professionals to give students the tools to live creative, passionate and fulfilling lives.

Widely regarded as Australia’s leading teacher of audition technique for musical theatre, Queenie combined her 26+ years of studying audition technique with her 37+ years as a multi-award winning performer of musical theatre, to develop a unique audition and performance preparation method, that has helped her students gain leading roles in shows such as The Lion King, Annie, Mary Poppins, A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical, Pretty Woman: The Musical, Fiddler on the Roof, Six: The Musical, Anastasia, The Book of Mormon, Beauty & the Beast, Wicked, TINA – The Tina Turner Musical, Hamilton, Chicago, and Grease, to name just a few. Queenie has been teaching her method to performers across Australia and internationally for the past 26 years. The remarkable number of her students who have gone on to become renowned performers in commercial musicals, has seen her hailed in the press as a ‘musical theatre star-maker’.

As a true champion of the arts, having joined Actors Equity, MEAA in her very first professional show in 1989, Queenie’s unwavering passion for her craft and commitment to the union has made her a powerful advocate for artists Australia wide. Queenie brings to all her work, not only this wealth of experience but also her fine communication skills, her passion for the arts, her warm and positive nature and her wonderful sense of humour.

Jake Bristow

(A Very Naughty Christmas, The Ten Tenors, Sleep in the City)

Jake Bristow is a vocalist and pianist who crosses many genres.

He performs in the jazz, pop/rock, covers, piano bar and theatre scenes throughout Australia.

He began as a keen jazz musician graduating from the Jazz Music Institute in 2014 and has been a full time freelance musician since.

Known for his quick wit, cheeky smile and daring sense of humour, Jake has been shaped into a powerhouse entertainer by years of gigging in cover bands, performing in piano bars and fronting his jazz quartet.

Jake is frequently working in the theatre and cabaret scene as a performer, accompanist and music director.

He has worked on several national and international tours including The Tenor Tenors, Lisa Hunt and ABC’s Jenny Woodward.

Jake has been involved in the creation of many different shows including: A Very Naughty Christmas, Babushka’s Regifted and Sleep In The City.

Eliza Carlin

(Annie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Finding Nemo)

Eliza is an avid and versatile Melbourne-based performer, choreographer, and teacher. She graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre) from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), with additional training at Showfit (2019) and NYU Steinhardt (Vocal Performance, 2017).

At 11 years old she made her professional debut as Duffy in the national tour of Annie (GFO). Next, she will return as Indie in I Promise This Isn’t About You (Even If It Feels Like It Is) presented by Pigeon Pigeon for Melbourne Fringe Festival 2026. First staged at the 2025 festival, the production was nominated for two Green Room Awards and received the Crowd Pleaser Award for Melbourne Fringe 2025.

Other performing credits include: Marta - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (TML Enterprises), Nails (Home Grown), Water Guardians (National Theatre for Children), Maybe A Miracle, The Marine Team, Way Too Cool, AI Academy, Something Special and Time For Tech (Perform! Education).

In 2025, Eliza was selected as a participant in the Rob Guest Endowment, recognising emerging performers who demonstrate exceptional potential.

Eliza is also a passionate teacher and choreographer for studios and schools across Melbourne, described as an “emerging choreographic force.” Her choreography credits include 42nd Street and Finding Nemo (Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School). She established and co-ordinates the school’s select-entry elite dance squad, now in its fifth season.

Angelique Cassimatis

(Beetlejuice, Chicago, The Wizard of Oz)

Angelique is a true triple-threat performer, excelling as an actor, singer and dancer across Australia, New Zealand and internationally, with an extensive list of professional stage and live theatre credits.

Angelique most recently appeared in the original Australian cast of Eddie Perfect's Beetlejuice (Michael Cassel Group) as Miss Argentina. Most recently, she performed in the Australian tour of Chicago: The Musical (John Frost for Crossroads Live & Jones Productions), covering and appearing as Velma Kelly. She also played The Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz (Queensland Performing Arts Centre and Prospero Arts), following her role as Kathy Selden in Singin' in the Rain, and earlier this year appeared in the Hamburg season of the disco cabaret Velvet.

Her other major credits include Cassie in the critically acclaimed A Chorus Line (Darlinghurst Theatre Company) for Sydney Festival and the Sydney Opera House, Jean in American Psycho (BB Arts Entertainment), and Pippin (John Frost & Suzanne Jones), where she performed as Berthe and Leading Player. Additional theatre credits include Hair, Saturday Night Fever, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Mack & Mabel, Carmen on Sydney Harbour, Little Shop of Horrors, Jesus Christ Superstar, Rent, Strictly Ballroom, The Rocky Horror Show, King Kong Live on Stage, Mary Poppins, High School Musical, Guys and Dolls, and The Opera, The Eighth Wonder.

Angelique began her training at The Dance Works in Brisbane before continuing at The Australian Dance Performance Institute, making her professional musical theatre debut in Annie in 2000. She has also received critical acclaim for her one-woman show, Guilty Pleasures.

Angelique is passionate about inspiring and mentoring the next generation of performers.

Sally Dashwood

(The Voice, The X Factor, So You Think You Can Dance Australia)

Sally Dashwood is a Sydney‑based creative and performer currently working as Artist in Residence for Sydney Catholic Schools. She is the creator and choreographer of Australia’s acclaimed female tap company Girls On Tap, for which she won Best Choreographer at the Rave Theater Festival in New York City and performed to sold‑out audiences across Sydney and regional NSW. Her contributions to the Australian performing arts industry are also featured in Light The Way: Inspiring Stories from Australian Dancers.

Sally recently made her directorial debut with Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn at Hayes Theatre Co. Her other directing credits include Revival Director for Two Weddings, One Bride (Opera Australia), Associate Director/Associate Choreographer for A Chorus Line (Darlinghurst Theatre Co.), Assistant Director for La Bohème (Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour), and Assistant to Creative Directors The Squared Division on The X Factor.

As a choreographer, Sally’s work spans theatre, film and large‑scale events. Her credits include Middle Raged (Women With Pockets and Andrew Kay & Associates), Into the Woods (Belvoir), Godspell (Hayes Theatre Co.), and Hubris and Humiliation (Sydney Theatre Company). She choreographed the arena‑sized School of Rock for Sydney Catholic Schools at Qudos Bank Arena, featuring more than 3,000 young performers, as well as Off the Charts for P&O Cruises. Her choreography for the short film Mumlife was selected for the 2022 Cannes Film Festival (La Cinef).

Sally has also worked extensively as an assistant choreographer and dance captain, collaborating with Kelley Abbey on Carmen (Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour), serving as Assistant Choreographer on Let’s Misbehave (P&O/Grayboy) and The X Factor, and performing as Assistant Choreographer and Dance Captain for OzPanto’s Snow White and Aladdin and His Magic Lamp.

Her performance career spans stage, film and television, including Fame the Musical (GFO), Candy Man Show starring Wayne Scott Kermond, and Mack and Mabel (Highway Run Productions). On screen, she appeared in Happy Feet 2 and on programs such as Australia’s Next Top Model, The Voice, Australia’s Got Talent and Celebrity Splash. She was also a Top 20 finalist on So You Think You Can Dance Australia (Season 4).

Passionate about developing the next generation of performers, Sally brings energy, humour and high expectations to her teaching and adjudicating across Australia and abroad. She also champions new creative opportunities through her production company, Well Done Creative, which she co‑directs with her husband, Tim Dashwood.

Ned Dixon

(Ruthless, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Gender Euphoria)

Ned Dixon is a music director, pianist, and performer who creates and directs music in the collaborative spaces of theatre, comedy, animation and film.

Their recent music direction credits include Ruthless (2024, 2025), Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame (2023), and Gender Euphoria (2019-2023).

You may find Ned in theatre orchestra pits, or behind the piano in audition rooms across Melbourne.

Ned’s varied work has earned five Green Room Award nominations, across the categories of Best Original Songs (Malice, 2015), Best Ensemble (Gender Euphoria, 2020, 2024), Best Cabaret Production (Gender Euphoria, 2020), and Musical Direction (2018).

They are also active as a composer for original musicals and theatre pieces, with Ned’s original musicals Staffroom and Besties respectively placing as finalists at New Musicals Australia (2017) and the Queer Playwriting Award Showcase (2022) and featuring in various workshops and featured showcases at Homegrown and NIDA.

Carita Farrer Spencer

(Ladies in Black, Middle Raged, The Heartbreak Choir)

Actor, singer, cabaret artist, writer, director and visual artist, Carita’s career began in Queensland after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Acting (QUT). She went on to receive a Lord Mayor’s Performing Arts Fellowship to study theatre & singing in New York and California (including NYU, The Lincoln Centre and The Esalen Institute) which ignited her passion for multi-disciplinary arts practice.

Carita’s professional career spans over three decades. She has worked extensively in theatre, music, film and TV, comedy, cabaret, street theatre, circus and has been engaged in literally hundreds of productions, tours and creative projects.

Carita has most recently starred in the 2026 premiere season & tour of Middle Raged - A Musical Meltdown by Queenie van de Zandt and Tiffany Noack.

She will next appear alongside Todd McKenney in his upcoming cabaret shows Peter and Me.

Her cabaret and music career has seen her perform at Festivals all around the country such as: Adelaide Fringe; Melbourne Fringe; Woodford Folk Festival; Byron Bay Blues Festival; Ladies Sing the Blues Festival; Brisbane Festival; Brisbane Cabaret Festival; Sydney Festival; Melbourne International Comedy Festival; Glitter Festival; Festival of Voices; and Midsumma Festival.

Kala Gare

(Six, My Brilliant Career, Calamity Jane)

Kala Gare (She/Her) is a Sydney/Gadigal land based performer who graduated in 2017 from the Victorian College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

Kala has performed in such roles as Alice in Bright Star (Pursued By Bear); Anne Boleyn in the original Australian cast of Six (Louise Withers & Co); Katie Brown in Calamity Jane (One Eyed Man Productions) and Sybylla Melvyn in My Brilliant Career (Melbourne Theatre Company), in both the remounted tour and the original production, where she originated the role.

Kala is an avid supporter of new Australian work, this year participating in the workshop development of the new musical; Nails (Little Triangle Productions) playing the role of Crofty, and most recently having Old Fitz debut in the new play; Forget Me, Please (Sophie Davis) playing the role of Sasha.

Kala is also a singer/songwriter and has recently released her debut EP; Closer to Home, which is available to stream anywhere you get music.

Kala is proudly represented by Nathan Culliver Management.

Ryan González

(In the Heights, Mackenzie, Moulin Rouge! The Musical)

Ryan González (they/them) is an actor and choreographer with a career in cabaret, film and theatre. Ryan is known for their iconic run of Usnavi de la Vega in In the Heights, winning the Sydney Theatre Award for Best Actor 2018 and reprising their role at the Sydney Opera House 2024 and Comedy Theatre 2025.

Most recently they played Bud in Gutenberg! The Musical for Hayes Theatre, Francis Fryer in Calamity Jane at the Opera House, joined Opera Australia Orchestra in Strictly Baz Luhrmann - The Concert, Indie Symphony II for Orchestra Victoria and appeared as Beau in the World Premiere of Mackenzie for Bell Shakespeare.

Creatively Ryan was choreographer and assistant director for Head Over Heels, directed Theys At The Hayes Vol. 3 and choreographed Nails The Musical for Qtopia.

They originated the role of Dave in the world premiere production of Zombie! The Musical, saluted Barbra Streisand’s legacy in To Barbra with Love Concert and toured as Santiago in Moulin Rouge! The Musical. In 2019 Ryan starred as Frankie Valli in the national tour of international blockbuster musical, Jersey Boys, receiving a Greenroom Award nomination and Sydney Theatre Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical.

Ryan performed the role of Roy in Sydney Theatre Company’s Co-Production of Fun Home and appeared as Gabriel in Melbourne Theatre Company’s Kiss of the Spider Woman. Ryan recorded vocals for the studio concept album for new Australian rock musical Dubbo Championship Wrestling and Original Cast Album of Zombie! The Musical.

They played drag artiste Freddy in The View Upstairs and took over the role of Charles Guiteau in Assassins for the Sydney Opera House season. They played Eddie Ryan in Funny Girl in Concert and featured as a soloist in the Bernstein Songbook Series, both for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Ryan’s solo cabaret ¡Hispanic Attack! debuted in 2016 at Hayes Theatre Co. and went on to feature in Adelaide cabaret festival, as well as touring to Melbourne and Perth.

Other credits include Mike in Velvet Rewired, Angel in Kinky Boots, Wayne Burns/Ensemble in Strictly Ballroom the Musical (cover Scott Hastings), King Kong Live on Stage, Fighting Prawn in Peter and the Starcatcher, Legally Blonde the Musical, Virgil in Violet Hayes Theatre and Opera Australia’s Carmen. Film credits include motion capture artist in Happy Feet Two directed by George Miller, The Great Gatsby directed by Baz Luhrmann and Australian film Goddess. Ryan’s creative credits include Gypsy (Resident Choreographer), Young Frankenstein (Associate Choreographer) and American Psycho (Associate Choreographer).

Kat Harrison

(Dusty The Musical in Concert, Come From Away, Ladies in Black)

Born and raised in Brisbane, Kat Harrison is an established performer known for her versatile talent across a wide range of theatrical productions.

She was most recently seen in the role of Peg in Dusty The Musical in Concert for Prospero Arts. Prior to that Kat played Bonnie and others in the Australian National Tour of Come From Away.

Kat holds a Bachelor of Music (Musical Theatre) from the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University (QCGU).

She made her professional debut originating the roles of Dawn and Myra in the critically acclaimed Ladies in Black, which won a Helpmann Award for Best New Australian Work and enjoyed sell-out seasons at both the Queensland and Melbourne Theatre Companies before embarking on a national tour.

Other notable credits include Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night, and 600 Ways to Filter a Sunset, also for Queensland Theatre, as well as new Australian works Handle With Care, One in Seven, and Becoming Bill.

Liam Head

(Wicked, Better Man, Jagged Little Pill)

Liam is an Australian actor trained at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.

Screen credits include the role of Take That member, Howard Donald, in Michael Gracey's Robbie Williams biopic, Better Man. He played Leo, in the web series Life of Jess, and he worked with Kate Wormald as a featured dancer on Baz Luhrmann's ELVIS.

Liam recently played Fiyero in the Australian production of Wicked, as the musical marked its 20th anniversary touring Australia and Asia.

Other credits include Joe Byrne in Victorian Opera's Ned Kelly the Musical, Nick Healy in the Australian premiere of Jagged Little Pill (GWB Entertainment), and he was a featured tenor in Singin' in the Rain (Prospero Arts).

As a recording artist, Liam released his debut EP, Come on December, in 2021.

Liam co-directs The Head Bros, an independent production company through which he writes, directs, and produces original work. Productions to date include It's Only Life, 10 Act Cabaret, and Hallmarked!, with further works currently in development.

Trevor Jones

(Into the Woods, Avenue Q, Dogfight)

Trevor Jones is a Melbourne based entertainer, musical director and educator who works across a wide range of genres. He has received Green Room Awards for Musical Direction (2025) and Contribution to Cabaret (2024) and was awarded the Brian Stacey Award for Emerging Australian Conductors in 2011.

Recently, Trevor was musical director and arranger for the critically acclaimed Sondheim revue Colour and Light and for the Hayes Theatre’s 5 person production of Pirates of Penzance, as well as Opera Queensland’s major regional tour Are You Lonesome Tonight. Other music directing credits include A Funny Thing Happened on the Way To The Forum and Into The Woods for Watch This productions, Yank! (Understudy Productions), Avenue Q (Prince Moo Productions), Next To Normal and Dogfight (Doorstep Arts) and Twisted Broadway 2014 and 2017.

Trevor performs regularly in festivals and piano bars around Australia playing everything by request, ranging from standards and show tunes, classic rock and pop songs, right through to modern hits. He has travelled internationally as a piano bar entertainer and, until recently, could be regularly seen as a guest entertainer on P&O Cruise Lines.

Other highlights include a 12 year residency at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, piano bars in the Garden of Unearthly Delights at Adelaide Fringe Festival, long standing residencies at The Butterfly Club in Melbourne and DooBop bar in Brisbane, major theatre tours around China and performing as a part of the World Busker’s Festival in Christchurch, New Zealand.

He has performed cabaret shows to great acclaim in venues around Australia including Downstairs at the Maj and The Ellington (Perth), Chapel off Chapel and The Butterfly Club (Melbourne), La Boheme (Adelaide) and Grand Electric (Sydney) with his shows By Chance, Move On, Trevor Jones in Sticky Situations, Kollision and sold out seasons of Still Standing - A Tribute to the Great Piano Men and Under The Milky Way - Trevor Jones sings the Great Australian Songbook. His most recent show Sing It, in which the audience vote for their top 10 singalong songs currently has a monthly residency at The Grand Electric in Sydney and has been performed in Adelaide, Hobart, Christchurch and Barwon Heads. Trevor's performances bring a unique blend of humour, story-telling and song.

As an educator, Trevor has held positions at NASDA (Christchurch NZ), the Queensland Conservatorium and the Victorian College of the Arts as well as Associate Musical Director of the Victorian State Schools Spectacular.

He also holds a PhD in musical theatre from the University of Melbourne.

Andrew Worboys

(The Wizard of Oz, The Lovers, Rent)

Andrew grew up in Orange, a town in the central west of New South Wales Australia, surrounded by pub rock and musical theatre.

Andrew has musically directed productions of Sweet Charity, Truth Beauty and a Picture of You, Little Shop of Horrors, High Fidelity, Rent, Assassins, Young Frankenstein, American Psycho, and Merrily We Roll Along for the Hayes Theatre Co, The Dismissal for Squabbalogic, Betty Blokkbuster Reimagined for Redline Productions, A Chorus Line for Darlinghurst Theater Company, Mr. Burns – A Post Electric Play and Sweeney Todd for NIDA, The Lovers for Bell Shakespeare, The Wizard of Oz in Concert for Prospero Arts, Queenie van de Zandt’s BLUE: The Songs of Joni Mitchell at the Hayes Theatre, and the Australia tour of Here You Come Again for Tinderbox Productions.

Andrew has also been a regular musical director and performer for The Wharf Revue.

As a composer Andrew has scored for the short films Harvey and While the Cat’s Away, for the Hong Kong hit TV series Once Upon a Time in China as well as composing music for Dracula and Radium Girls for Red Tree Theatre and his own musicals Showtrain and The Silent Flute.

Andrew has toured with Christine Anu, Jenny Morris, Melanie Safka, Florence and the Machine, Jimmy Somerville and John Cameron Mitchell.

Andrew co-produced the original Australian cast recordings of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and Jimmy Somerville’s Suddenly Last Summer.

Andrew has received the Hayes Gordon Memorial Award from the GLUGS for Important Contribution to Theatre and a Sydney Theatre Award for Best Musical Direction for his work on American Psycho.

Ned Wright-Smith is a conductor and pianist whose work has taken him across 4 continents.

Ned is currently the Associate Music Director for the Australian tour of Anastasia and previously worked for Royal Caribbean on their productions of Mamma Mia, Hairspray and We Will Rock You.

In Australia, Ned has conducted independent productions of Into the Woods, Bonnie & Clyde, Next to Normal and Sunday in the Park with George.

As a pianist Ned has played for Phantom of the Opera, auditions for Wicked, & Juliet, Beauty and the Beast and colleges including VCA and PSA.

Ned was also the original arranger for Blooms at MTC/STC.
