The Children’s Audition Preparation Workshop is a one-day, intensive, musical theatre audition workshop, led by prominent industry creatives. Using scenes, songs and dance routines from the musical ‘Matilda’ we teach children the essential skills needed to audition successfully for professional musicals.
The workshop is open to any young person aged 7 to 17 who wants to audition for professional musicals, as the audition skills taught in the workshops are relevant to any professional musical audition.
The Children’s Audition Preparation Workshops boast a proven success rate in helping young performers excel in professional musical theatre auditions. Over the past 26 years, participants have consistently stood out during the casting process, showcasing the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the competitive world of professional musicals. As a result, young performers who attend these workshops consistently secure leading roles in professional musicals, including:

Neither the Australian Musical Theatre Academy (AMTA), nor any of our staff, are in any way connected to, or associated with, or endorsed or sponsored by any Australian production company and/or promoter and/or their productions and are not involved in any way in the casting of such productions. Through our independent, highly successful workshops we’ve been teaching children and adults the skills involved in auditioning for professional musicals and preparing them to take leading roles in professional shows for the past 24 years. Obviously, we can’t, and won’t ever, guarantee that anyone will be cast in a musical, however many children and adults who participate in our workshops are subsequently cast in professional musicals.
