CREATIVE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Flexible Hours

"Queenie's intern role was the foot-in the-door that I needed to get into the fickle arts industry. Working with her provided very real-world experience of working in the Australian arts & entertainment industry, and her incredible knowledge and proven experience as both performer, self-promoter and producer proved invaluable to my understanding of the inner workings of the industry as well as my future career in PR."
Remy Chancerel,
PR Director, Good Humans PR
(Hamilton, Mary Poppins, Harry Potter & the Cursed Child)

Queenie van de Zandt, one of Australia's leading performing artists and arts educators, is looking for enthusiastic creatives to grow alongside her and the small arts companies she runs: The Australian Musical Theatre Academy (AMTA), her live performance arts training institution and her boutique theatrical and entertainment production house, Amazon Woman Enterprises (AWE).

Join her motley band of creative souls and gain experience in theatrical producing, event planning, live touring to festivals and venues, arts administration, creative writing, marketing, database management, publicity, social media, website management, arts education, pitching your work and creative development.

Her volunteer interns are supported and encouraged to learn new skills, working on specific projects for AMTA and/or AWE. They also spend time with Queenie brainstorming and developing their own creative projects and are introduced and given access to relevant industry contacts to further their own creative pursuits.

Over the past 13 years, more than half the volunteer interns who have worked with Queenie have gone on to work in their chosen field after their internship. The old adage is true - 'it's not what you know, it's who you know!"

"Working with Queenie enabled me to learn the programs and level of organisation required to work in arts administration and management and gave me valuable insight into working with children and their families in the performing arts. These valuable skills (as well as a great reference from Queenie) secured me the best job I’ve ever had, at a P-12 school where I head up the admin for the music program and help produce the school concerts and productions."
Ellen Lane,
Performing Arts and Co-Curricular Assistant,
Marymede Catholic College
